The Legend of Conan

27 Oct

Robert E. Howard’s barbarian is back! Deadline is reporting that Arnold Schwarzenegger will be reprising his role as Conan the Barbarian in The Legend of Conan. The third installment will be a direct sequel to the original Conan the Barbarian and will completely skip over Conan the Destroyer and the 2011 remake that starred Jason Momoa.

The movie will be produced by Fredrick Malmberg and Chris Morgan (screenwriter for Wanted and Fast and Furious).

According to Malmberg:

The original ended with Arnold on the throne as a seasoned warrior, and this is the take of the film we will make. It’s that Nordic Viking mythic guy who has played the role of king, warrior, soldier and mercenary, and who has bedded more women than anyone, nearing the last cycle of his life. He knows he’ll be going to Valhalla, and wants to go out with a good battle.

Yay! Please God let this movie have an R Rating. I think the Momoa remake is a good lesson that some movies need to be violent, bloody and restricted.

Apparently Conan is one of Chris Morgan’s dream projects and he’ll be producing The Legend of Conan and writing the script. Morgan says he’s committed to making a sequel that lives up to the original. Arnold is on board and Universal Studios hopes to release the movie by summer 2014.

HELL YA!!!!

I loved this show when I was a kid.
