Ryan Reynolds in Highlander

5 Jul

It’s official. Ryan Reynolds will play Connor Macleod in the Highlander remake directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later). The plot follows a race of immortal beings (though they can be killed by having their heads cut off) fighting throughout the ages.

The original Highlander movie starred Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery. Lambert plays an immortal Scottish swordsman who must confront the last of his immortal opponents, a brutal barbarian who lusts for the fabled Prize. The Prize is true immortality because in the end “there can only be one.”

In addition to the original movie, there was a couple forgettable sequels and a TV series in the early 90s, starring Adrian Paul who I was obsessed with for some reason.

Everyone is hush-hush about the plot details, but really how different can it be?

oohhhhh interesting. I hadn’t heard about this. My mom watched the tv series… interesting choice by Reynolds right now. But I like it… let’s hope he can do a convincing accent.
