Check out the first trailer for Baz Luhrmann’s take on The Great GatsbyVisually it looks amazing and we can only hope that the storyline isn’t completely abandoned in favour of “The Luhrmann Aesthetic”.

I am feeling this trailer. I love Carey Mulligan in this role.
But I still can’t get over the fact that he filmed this in Aussie land. I get that Luhrmann wants to support the film industry in his home country… but of all movies, as iconically ‘American’ as this story is… it should have been filmed in the US.
But yah… agreed that this is undoubtedly the ‘Luhrmann aesthetic’… we’ll have to see how that translates.

I’m always surprised with film locations. Another example, Wolverine 2 is filming in Australia even though it’s supposed to take place in Japan. Budget concerns are always a factor, but really? Really?

I wonder if Hugh Jackman had some say where that is concerned. All I can say is – Wolverine 2 HAS to be better than the first, right? RIGHT?!!!
